Volunteer breakfast - Friday, June 7th - Invitations were sent home last week but I want to make sure you know to join staff at 9:00 in the staff lounge.
Class song - Monday, June 10th - We have been very fortunate to have had Connor Desai, Ruby's mom, bring her singer songwriter talents to our class! Connor allowed the kids to tell stories about their lives and then created lyrics that represented us! In the last several weeks we have been practicing the song a couple times a week. We will be performing during the Monday Morning Meeting. We hope you can join!
Field Trip - Tuesday, June 11th - We will be taking a trip to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation visitor center. to celebrate the end of our PBL Economics unit. I am hoping it will inspire students to give back to their community by donating a percentage of their profits to an organization!
Market place - June 11th AND June 12th - Student companies (from PBL unit) will be selling their products before and after school. Students are encouraged to come as early as 8:45 and stay as late at 4:00 but it is not expected. The location is to be determined (outside on playground or in cafeteria). Feel free to stop by to see what your student created and to make a purchase!
Cleaning Day - June 12th - You can expect students to bring home evidence of learning. I am encouraging students to bring home notebooks of sorts (reading, writing, word work, etc.). Of course, I hope that you will sit down with students and peruse their notebooks to celebrate their hard work!
Field Day- June 13th - 4th grade will wear black clothing (hoping its not too hot that day). I will have headband type wraps for all kids if they want (we can get them wet). We will walk to the field at 11:45 and return around 3:00. Feel free to join or sign up to help!
Marble jar celebration - June 14th - It turns out that we will be celebrating our kind, safe, helpful and fair ways ALL day on Friday! Students have requested various activities and I will be planning and scheduling! Let me know if you have free time and would like to join!
As usual, the end of the year sneaks up on me and we have to push through to accomplish all that was envisioned! I have a feeling we will be so busy that the last day will catch us by surprise!
