Writer's workshop - Personal narrative stories are published (recordings) and a celebration will be planned soon! We are having some technical difficulty with accessing the recordings from various locations. Once we work out the challenge, I will let you know when and how to participate in the celebration! Our fiction writing unit will begin this week (kids are thrilled)!
Math - We are diving into multiplication and division, beginning with a solid understanding of fact families. Students who have not established the memorization of multiplication facts (up to 10) will need to begin and master soon! Students will be bringing different strategies home to practice the facts if they have not already mastered.
NW Coast People- The workshops (carving, weaving, storytelling, and drawing) were a hit! Thanks to so many parents for helping to make the 2 + hour session a success. Students were thrilled to practice new skills during leisure time today! The first critical incident will take place tomorrow (sh!).
Other:
Homework - The task this week is very different than the usual project. Students will be creating their homepage in Weebly. Students received a rubric with specific expectations. Please help push your student to do their best, meaning they should continually work on the website to make it better each day. In particular, I will be looking at the quality of the descriptions of the photos. The login (first name, last initial, qae4) and password (hunterqae) should not be changed.
WPG (World Peace Game) - Come watch the documentary created by John Hunter, a teacher, explaining the "game" that 4th graders will be playing in November. I will be there to any questions to the best of my understanding. Trust me, you will be moved!
