Students will bring all their overnight supplies to school on Friday (see below for a list). The event will kick off at 3:35 when the bell rings with free recess time outside. Then, we will head inside for board games of choice. Pizza and veggies will be delivered by my husband around dinner time (thinking 5:30ish). Then, a scavenger hunt type game will be played inside the treehouse building in the dark with flashlights. Afterward, sleeping arrangements will be organized and a movie will begin (treats will be offered, of course). Students chose, by popular vote, to watch The Princess Bride. Bed time will be 10:00 pm (the time was decided by the class), which means that students will lay down and chat quietly (whispers were requested by some students) or read books. The building will be locked and security will be notified if there is any activity setting off the alarms. A simple breakfast (scones, muffins and fruit) will be available in the morning and a major clean up will take place. Parents will pick up students at 10am on Saturday.
List of items to bring:
Money for dinner and breakfast ($5-10 would be appreciated)
Snack for afterschool
Pajamas/Change of clothes
Sleeping gear (bag or blankets and pillow)
Sleeping mat (if you have one)
Toiletries
Stuffed animal (if a student would like)
Flashlight or headlamp
Book or mobile device to read before bed
No toys, please!
Please don't hesitate to ask questions about something I may have left out or forgotten. Also, if your student does not want to stay the night please make a plan with me about pick up time (this will require us to inform security so we can unlock the door without the alarm going off). Or, if you need to pick up your student earlier on Sat. please also let me know.
